Why This Site?

Back in the early days of the internet, I toyed with the idea of starting my own web page. The trouble was I didn’t really have anything I wanted to say. I suppose I could have done what many others did: post pictures of myself, my family, my cat, my pet rock, maybe a listing of my favorite pastimes, but to what purpose? So the years went by until, one day, I discovered biker forums. I became fascinated by the many personal narratives that could be found amongst the technical exchange. The similarity of some of their stories to those of my own surprised me. They also inspired me to create this web site. So I started to write.

What you’ll find on these pages is a collection of my motorcycling experiences. If you like reading about an ordinary person’s two wheel tales, progressing from the early days on mini-bikes to a current heavy weight cruiser, about the rides, rallies and events attended, and about the parts and accessories used along the way, then welcome to my web site; you’ve come to the right place.

On the other hand, if you are expecting an in depth technical discourse, complete with comprehensive “how to” information, I should warn you right now that there aren’t any. There are a lot of terrific gear head sites in cyber space; this just happens to not be one of them.

Ultimately, it is my intention to desktop publish “Two Wheeled Tales” as part of a family heirloom for my kids. I could never convince my parents to put down on paper their incredible journey in life, and it will be a pity that much of their history will fade away with their passing. I don’t want to make the same mistake.

I hope my stories will bring some amusement not only to my kids, and hopefully their kids, but to you as well. Thanks for visiting.

George
