Gail's Riding Journal

Thousand Islands
I wanted to organize a ride with some friends I worked with last summer at Ross Video. When I mentioned this to Andrew, he suggested going to his cottage in the Thousand Islands since the back roads would provide us with a very pleasant route along the St Lawrence River.
So I emailed the guys and they invited a couple others, and we were set for July 10. Total in attendance was Brian, Meng, Ben, Christain, Charles, Andrew, and me. We would meet at my house and ride together for at least part of the way. I would make maps so we could have predetermined meet points, since Andrew and I would not be going as fast on our Blasts as they boys on their race replicas would want to ride.
The ride was very pleasant even though, as expected, the boys did ride ahead of us at super sonic speeds. Along South Gower Drive, this would have been reasonable, since there's not much to look at, but it's a shame they rode the second half so fast, leaving the nice river scenery a blur.
We enjoyed a relaxing afternoon at Andrew's cottage and enjoyed some well deserved BBQ. Most of us cooled off in the River before heading out. Andrew and I let the other boys go ahead of us on the highway, and we stayed behind for dinner and a slower ride home on the back roads.

Andrew and Meng hang out while Brian inspects Meng's tire. The others have not arrived yet.

Christain and Charles arrive with Ben (not shown).

Everyone has arrived, so after handing out maps and discussing meeting points, we will be ready to gas up and go.

The last meeting point before reaching the dock was at the Lighthouse general store.

Mmmm, food...

Andrew and I stop at the same park we breaked at on our way while making our way home solo.
