Boris Captures Blast

Ok, so Boris is a boy's name and my spider has an egg sac, but I like The Who, so now the spider's name is Boris anyway.

Our Yahoo! Group for the Buell Blast is holding a photo contest. The only rules are that you have to take a picture of your Blast in front of a landmark, and no Photo Shopping allowed.

I finally got my picture taken this morning! We had to go very early if we wanted any hope of being "allowed" to roll the bike onto the plaza and park it under the spider. Nobody cared that we were there for a few minutes; then we heard a man blaring out on the loudspeaker:

"Please reMOVE the motorcycle. There is no parking on the plaza; remove the motorcycle. Please REMOVE the motorcycle."

We left right away :)

A little more info about the picture: The spider is a sculpture by artist Louise Bourgeois, and there is another one in New York City at the Guggenheim Museum. The spider's actual name is "Maman" (French for mother). The building behind the spider is Canada's National Art Gallery.

We took the picture from another angle with the parliament buildings behind in the distance. This one was dedicated to the group member that was positive my landmark was going to be the Parliament Buildings since I live in Canada's Capital.

The contest entry.
